What the API key can and can’t do.
Trading permission only
The key only needs trading permission. Vectorhelm places and cancels orders, nothing else.
Trading only
Sub-accounts are kept separate
Each sub-account has its own limits, so strategies on different sub-accounts can’t affect each other.
Independent
Switch it off any time
Delete the key on Binance and trading stops. You don’t need us for that.

Binance setup tips.
Four things to know before you connect Binance.
Spot and futures are separate
They are distinct APIs with their own balances, symbols and position models. A key enabled for one does not necessarily work for the other, and a futures strategy will not trade against a spot balance.
Two APIs
Each sub-account stands alone
Each sub-account has its own balance and its own limits. That’s usually what you want — an experiment on one sub-account can’t touch the main one.
Isolated
Error -2015 is almost always the IP
Binance returns -2015 for an invalid key, an invalid signature or an unauthorised IP — and in practice it’s almost always the IP. If you restrict your key by IP, add Vectorhelm’s IP addresses to the list.
Allowlist
MIN_NOTIONAL rejects small orders
Every symbol has a minimum order value and a step size. An order below it is rejected by Binance, not by us — which is why a small test order can fail while a normal one works.
