and how to check yours
We only call a connection live once it’s running real strategies. If your broker offers MT5, it very likely works — here’s how to check in ten minutes.

Not connected yet. If a broker offers MT5, our MT5 connection usually covers it — the terminal is the same everywhere.
The MetaTrader 5 connection →Try MT5
Same MT5, different broker rules.
MT5 works the same at every broker. What changes is how each broker names its symbols and sets its order rules.
Symbols come from your account
The same pair is EURUSD at one broker and EURUSD.raw at another. You don’t type symbol names: the connector lists what your account actually trades, and you pick from that list.
From your account
Volume step and minimum
Minimum volume, maximum volume and step size are set per symbol and per broker. An order between two steps is rejected — which is why a size that works on one account can fail on another.
Per symbol
Hedging accounts only
A netting account merges every order into one position per symbol, so strategies can’t be kept apart. Vectorhelm needs a hedging account. Most MT5 brokers offer both, so check yours first.
Required
Stop and freeze levels
Brokers set a minimum distance for stops from the current price, and a band where orders can’t be changed. A stop inside either is refused by the broker, not by us.

Why there is no compatibility table
A list of broker names would suggest each one is certified. Brokers change their symbols and rules without notice, so a list would quietly go out of date — and that’s worse than no list.
The check
Run these four checks on a demo account before you connect real money.
- Open the symbol in your terminal and note its exact name, including any suffix
- Check the contract specification for volume step, minimum volume and stop level
- Make sure the account is hedging, not netting — netting accounts aren’t supported
- For a funded or challenge account, check the firm allows automated trading
