OKX
Automate your OKX account
with daily loss limits built in

What the API key can and can’t do.
Passphrase-protected keys
Your passphrase is stored encrypted with the key and used for every request. If it changes, the connection stops until you enter the new one.
Encrypted at rest
Trade permission only
The key only needs trading permission. Vectorhelm places and cancels orders, nothing else.
Trading only
Switch it off any time
Delete the key on OKX and trading stops.
Your control
OKX setup tips.
OKX needs one more credential than other exchanges, and one margin setting changes how your strategy sizes trades.
The passphrase is a third credential
An OKX key has three parts: the key, the secret and a passphrase you choose. All three are needed, and the passphrase can’t be recovered — only replaced by creating a new key.
Three parts
Changing the passphrase stops trading
Changing the passphrase on OKX doesn’t update it here. Trading stops until you enter the new one.

Margin mode changes sizing
Cross and isolated margin size the same order differently, and OKX doesn’t always let you switch with a position open. Decide before you go live.

settleCoin on derivatives
Each contract settles in a specific currency, and a balance in a different one won’t cover it. Check this when an order is rejected even though your account looks funded.
